Petrala is a community of outdoor enthusiasts that is dedicated to grow the sport of climbing. Our efforts are centered on a soulful passion for this exciting lifestyle. We encourage all ranges of expertise, alike. The culture of Petrala is a means to connect the climbing community, through shared exploration and discovery. We believe in a group climbing experience, where problems are solved as a team. We support a culture of individuals willing to leave their comfort zone in the pursuit of growing stronger and more skilled.

Foundation

Founded by Damon Corso and Cary Carmichael, development of Petrala began with a simple desire to bring more to the sport of climbing. Having been active in climbing competition and training, they drew from their experiences and shared a vision of taking rock climbing to the next level. Their goal became a climbing community that would take greater responsibility for mentoring within the sport, and raise awareness and respect for the locations that allow climbing.

Having organized a group of industry pros and media producers, Petrala has focused on delivering a fresh look at rock climbing.
